01 — A house with a soul

Some places are found.
Others are felt.

Tall windows. Original cement tiles. The shade of an old olive tree. A home with the unmistakable spirit of the South.

In Salin-de-Giraud, a nineteenth-century salt-works village at the southern tip of the Camargue, this renovated maison de maître offers around 180 m² of living space. High ceilings, mouldings and a fireplace preserve its period character; an open kitchen, a separate sitting room and a glazed winter garden invite you to settle in.

Four bedrooms and a study make room for family and friends. Outside, a fully fenced 925 m² plot brings together a planted garden, a pergola and a terrace. Cared for and renovated since 2020, it is equally suited to use as a primary residence or a holiday home.

04 — An extraordinary setting

Rooted in Provence.
Open to the wild.

At the mouth of the Rhône, the Camargue is one of Europe's great wetlands and a regional nature park since 1970: a landscape of lagoons, salt marshes, white horses, black bulls and thousands of pink flamingos.

Salin-de-Giraud has a bakery, shops, cafés and a school, and the Barcarin ferry across the Rhône gives a direct route towards Marseille. Yet the village remains one of the quietest corners of Provence.

05 — L’art de vivre

Days with no hurry.

Step out of the door and you are in one of the most untamed landscapes of the Mediterranean — a place for the sea, the saddle and long walks at golden hour.

01

Kitesurfing at Beauduc & Piémanson

The long, open beaches south of the village are among the best-known kite spots of the French Mediterranean. Beauduc works all year — with thermal winds in summer and the Mistral in the colder months — while the seven kilometres of Piémanson stretch from the mouth of the Rhône to the Beauduc lighthouse. Windsurfers and wing-foilers love it just as much.

  • Piémanson≈ 15 min
  • Beauduc via sand track≈ 40 min
02

The white horses of the Camargue

The Camargue horse — small, robust and born dark before turning white — has lived in the marshes of the delta for centuries and still roams semi-wild alongside the black bulls. Riding through the salt meadows and along the dunes is the classic way to discover the delta.

Right next to the village, the Domaine de la Palissade nature reserve offers guided rides from April to October — including a ride that ends on the beach behind the dunes — as well as walking trails of 3 to 8 km.

Flamingos & pink salt

The salt works of Salin-de-Giraud are among the largest in Europe. In summer their basins turn every shade of pink, and the white salt mountains glow against the blue sky. Greater flamingos feed in the surrounding lagoons — a sight that never gets old, and a paradise for birdwatchers and photographers.

04

Wild beaches without end

No promenades, no high-rises: just sand, dunes and the open sea. Piémanson and Beauduc are some of the last natural beaches of the French Mediterranean, perfect for long walks, swimming and fish lunches in Beauduc's rustic beach cabins.

  • Piémanson beach≈ 15 min
